Happy 4th of July weekend! The weather (and Ellie) had other plans for us, so unfortunately, we did not make it to Daufuskie for the weekend. Instead we stayed in Charleston and took the boat out with friends. We had a lovely dinner at my in-laws and watched the fireworks. Saturday was spent baking cookies, fitting in walks between rain showers, watching tennis and ultimately relaxing.

Harbinger and Harken are my favorite coffee shops in Charleston. They just dropped a cookbook recently but they also have some recipes online that I have been wanting to bake.

100% making this the next time we host a cookout
Book(s) I’m reading:
The Water is Wide by Pat Conroy
Recipes planned for the week:
Grilled Steak With Tomatoes, Basil and Cheddar (this is one of our favorites - so easy and so yummy)
Firecracker Salmon with Peach Avocado Salsa (I love peach season!)
Shopping Links:
J.Crew is having an amazing 4th of July sale. I ordered the following: (all of this was under $76…)
Boat neck T-shirt (in both navy & pink)
Anthropologie Saves:
Amazon Prime Day is next week (as we all know). These items are already in my cart in case they go on sale:
Portable baby monitor (we should have bought this 1.5 years ago..)
New vacuum — since we moved into a house with two sets of stairs, a cordless vacuum is a necessity.
Standing desk — I am deciding to go ergonomic vs cute for my office. As much as I want a beautiful wooden desk, a standing desk is just more ideal for how long I spend at the computer.
Walking pad — mine as well get those steps in while reading emails at my not cute desk
What I’m looking forward to in the week ahead:
I mentioned this in my last post, but getting back into a workout routine. I made it to one barre class last week but my goal is at least two this week. I would also like to start running again…so maybe I will try to fit in at least one run. We shall see. This is proving harder despite me trying to hold myself accountable…
Have a wonderful week!

Makenzie
