Setting the Tone: July Mood Board
July is HOT in Charleston. It gets to the point that you do not want to be outside unless you are at the beach, on the boat, or at the pool between the hours of 10:00AM and 6:00PM. This month, I am excited to host cookouts with friends in the backyard, spend as much as possible on/in the water, and finally start to relax and enjoy the summer. June was busy (but the most fun), so I am excited for the slower pace of July.
As far as travel plans, we do not have anything major planned this month. 4th of July weekend we are planning to boat over to Dafuaski for the a long weekend and we will probably try to make it down to my hometown in Beaufort for a weekend. I am excited to stay put and lean into the summer mindset.
One big change I want to make this month is start working out again. Since Ellie was born, I have put working out on the back burner. I used to workout every single day (sometimes twice a day if I was lucky). I loved it. Now I feel guilty for taking the time to take a workout class or go for a run. Also, where does one find the time? I have been doing random barre classes at 6:00AM but that requires waking up at 5:00AM…it’s just so early. Anywho, July is the month I am going to figure it out. I have to for my own sanity. Putting it in writing to hopefully hold myself more accountable.
Xo,
Makenzie
